The sovereign was reintroduced in 1817. Its reverse carries Benedetto Pistrucci's St George and the dragon design, which has appeared on British sovereigns for more than two centuries.
The Royal Mint recorded a mintage of 12,270 for the 2019 proof issue. This example is offered in its original case with its certificate of authenticity.
